ING Renault F1 Team announces Adam Khan as Demonstration Driver for 2009

As the ING Renault F1 Team gathered at l’Atelier Renault on the Champs Elysees in Paris, it was confirmed that 23-year-old Briton, Adam Khan, will join the driver line-up to spearhead the team’s demonstration activities for 2009.
Just a week after the R29 was unveiled in Portugal, the ING Renault F1 Team’s drivers, Fernando Alonso, Nelson Piquet and Romain Grosjean, joined key personnel at Renault’s flagship venue on the Champs Elysees to officially present the new car to the team’s partners and announce Adam Khan as the team’s demo driver. The young driver of Asian descent will demonstrate the Renault F1 R28 at both city demonstrations and circuit presentations for World Series by Renault events.

The team goes into its fourth season with the ambitious aim of fighting for the World Championship title.

ING Renault F1 Team unveils the R29 in Portugal


The ING Renault F1 Team officially launched its 2009 season today as the new Renault F1 R29 was unveiled to the world’s media at the Algarve Motor Park near Portimao in the south of Portugal. Both the team’s race drivers, Fernando Alonso and Nelson Piquet, were on hand this morning to take the covers off their new challenger as they joined Managing Director Flavio Briatore for a photo call with the R29 in front of the team’s pit garage. They were joined by young Frenchman, Romain Grosjean, who was announced as the team’s third driver for 2009, and the latest recruits from Renault’s Driver Development Programme: Davide Valsecchi from Italy, Charles Pic from France and Marco Sorensen from Denmark.

Moving to Mugello


Maranello, 10th January - Due to bad weather conditions with snow over the last few days and extremely low temperatures, the Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro has decided to debut with the Ferrari Formula 1 single-seater at the Mugello circuit, the second race track owned by Ferrari. The car's presentation will be held as planned on Monday, 12th January. The presentation's procedure on the website of the Prancing Horse remains unchanged: from Monday 9am CET photos and exclusive interviews can be found on www.ferrari.com, spiced up with the single-seater's technical details. During the day the first photos of the car on the track will be published on the website and Felipe Massa and members of the Scuderia, the reigning World Champion Team, will talk about their first experience and impressions of the car.

London, 8 January 2009 – The FOTA Executive Committee met today in Heathrow to further progress the cost reducing initiatives already developed. All the Members unanimously agreed a number of important principles and supported the process now established within FOTA.

The teams detailed and signed a comprehensive Aerodynamic Test Restrictions Agreement, effective in 2009.

Furthermore, the Teams agreed that they would develop and freeze low cost transmissions for the 2010/12 seasons which would have a six race life, priced at €1.5 million per season per team.

With the departure of Massimo Rivola, Gianfranco Fantuzzi now takes over as Scuderia Toro Rosso Team Manager.

Fantuzzi started his career with Ferrari back in the 70s, working as a race engineer in the 90s, before joining Minardi.

A spell with the Toyota F1 team, in charge of logistics, then led to a return to Faenza in 2006 to join Scuderia Toro Rosso as general manager.
