ANOTHER ONE-TWO! Victory in Abu Dhabi!
01 | 11 | 09
It was another first and second place on the podium as Vettel won the last race of the year and Webber came second.
After Lewis Hamilton was forced to retire Sebastian took the lead and never let go. Mark had a real battle on his hands with Button closing in on him in the final few laps, but held the Brawn off to secure second.

Abu Dhabi GP - Tough season tough finale
Yas Marina, 01st October 2009 - Kimi Raikkonen and Giancarlo Fisichella finished the final race of the 2009 season in twelfth and sixteenth places respectively, at the end of a very difficult weekend, when Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro never had a really competitive car for its drivers. A shame, on what was not only the last race of the year, but also the last appearance of both the Finn and the Italian in the cockpit of a Prancing Horse F1 car.

G. Fisichella: 16° 1:34.06.897 + 1 giro 54 laps chassis 280
Weather: air temperature 31/30 °C, track temperature 37/31°C, clear skies.
Once again, a floodlit race did not do any favours to Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro, who, just like in the two Singapore Grands Prix, came away empty handed. The season thus ends with the team in fourth place in the Constructors’ Championship, while the highest Ferrari driver in the Drivers’ classification is Kimi Raikkonen in sixth place.
2009 ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX - RACE

Team-mate Rubens Barrichello came through a first corner impact to drive a composed race and bring his Brawn-Mercedes car home in fourth position.
2009 ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX
Yas Marina circuit, Sunday November 1
MARTIN WHITMARSH, Team principal, Vodafone McLaren Mercedes
“Lewis drove absolutely superbly all weekend – in fact he drove absolutely superbly all year. Today, though, after just five laps, his right rear brake pad began to show signs of an unusual level of wear – a rogue pad, we think – and as a result we had to stop him for safety reasons. That was an enormous pity, because up to that point he’d shown blistering pace every day here in Abu Dhabi. In many ways, therefore, for us, today’s race was a disappointing end to a challenging season – but, overall, there are plenty of reasons to be cheerful about it.

2009 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Saturday
It was a disappointing qualifying session for the Renault F1 Team at Yas Marina as Fernando Alonso and Romain Grosjean qualified 16th and 19th places for tomorrow’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Abu Dhabi GP - No light in the dark
Yas Marina, 31 October 2009 – There was no light in the dark skies over the floodlit track for Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro in today’s final qualifying session of the season: Kimi Raikkonen only got as far as Q2 and will start from eleventh place on the grid on row 6 and Giancarlo Fisichella was left stranded in Q1, setting the slowest time and lines up at the back of the grid. Trying to look on the bright side, Kimi at least said eleventh was better than tenth in that he will start tomorrow evening’s race from the clean side of the track. Being outside the top ten also means a driver can choose his fuel load to best suit his strategy, rather than start with the weight in the car at the end of Q3.
Abu Dhabi GP - Qualifying session

G. Fisichella: 20th 1.42.184 12 laps
K. Raikkonen: 11th 1.40.726 8 laps
Bridgestone Motorsport’s Saturday Update
31 Oct. 2009
Lewis Hamilton (Vodafone McLaren Mercedes) has used Bridgestone’s medium compound Potenza tyre to blast to the first ever pole position at the dramatic Yas Marina circuit for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Hamilton set a time of 1min 40.948secs and will start tomorrow’s race alongside Red Bull Racing driver Sebastian Vettel. The earlier practice session saw Brawn GP Formula 1 Team driver Jenson Button set the fastest time, also using the medium compound.
