“I am very happy with the results; it was a fantastic turn around in what was such an eventful race. During the first stint, I thought my race was over because of the vibrations from the flat spot. But the car was really competitive during the last stint and we were able to finish very strongly. All the team deserves this double-podium, and all the guys back at the factory, everyone has kept pushing, and I want to say a big thank you to them. Hungarian Grand Prix Budapest, 26 July 2015

Maurizio Arrivabene: “A fantastic win! Over the past few weeks, we had had comments from people who said we were in a slump, people who obviously can’t or don’t want to read the numbers. As a matter of fact, we had anticipated long time ago that there could be ups and down in the course of the season, but that does not mean that we were stepping back. This weekend started with a horrible Friday for us, so we knew we only had P3 on Saturday to properly set the car up. We calmed down and managed to recover, but still we didn’t know we could win the race. We were only confident that we could fight at the front. Then both Seb and Kimi had a tremendous start and being able to drive in clean air surely made a difference in terms of tyre management, as we knew the first two sets of Options would perform very well. I am very disappointed, though, that Kimi din not make it to the end, because he was having a great day. Congrats to him. This is Formula One and we must accept the lack of reliability as another challenge for the future. We won today, but still keep our feet on the ground and remain humble and committed”. [Read More!]

Whilst P10 and P14 on the grid for tomorrow’s Hungarian Grand Prix might not set the world alight, there’s scope for a better showing at the Hungaroring.

Kimi Raikkonen: “It was a pretty normal qualifying, but we did not get the ideal result. We had some difficulties here and there and did not manage to put a very good lap together. This morning we had some issues and could not run with the soft tyres: for sure this did not help and it was a bit of unknown for qualifying, but it was not too bad and the behavior of the car was pretty good. Tomorrow I’ll be on the clean side of the starting grid, we’ll try to make a good start and see what happens in the first few corners. The race will be very long and obviously the Mercedes will be very strong, but if we cannot challenge them we’ll try to be second best. We’ll keep pushing and do our best.” [Read More!]

The feeling with the car was not too bad and the tyres were behaving pretty ok, but the laptimes are still not right. I don’t know exactly what happened with my front wing, it just broke suddenly and came off damaging the tyre. The team is looking into it and hopefully they will find out the reason. Sahara Force India Team Statement

Sahara Force India will not take part in this afternoon’s second practice session at the Hungaroring as the team continues to investigate a suspension problem, which caused Sergio Perez to crash this morning. Sergio’s car suffered significant damage to the bodywork, wings and floor, and repairs are ongoing.

As a precaution, the team has chosen not to run Nico Hulkenberg this afternoon. The team will work hard to fully understand the cause of the failure and find a resolution in order to be ready for Saturday’s free practice session.

2015 Hungarian Grand Prix - Preview

22 July 2015, Brackley
Lewis Hamilton
Saying goodbye to Jules was incredibly hard for everyone. For myself, I wished I had known him better. But from what I knew of him, he was a kind heart with a great spirit and a bright future. Now our sport embarks on a tough road ahead. We have been shown once more the dangers of our sport, that these should be respected and that we drivers commit ourselves to the chance that those dangers are there when we step into the car. We have made great progress for safety thus far and I know that the FIA will continue to make steps forward to improve even further. Hungary is a beautiful place, one of my favourites. I will be carrying Jules with me in my prayers and thoughts, not only this race but for the rest of my driving days. I know he'd want us to race hard as he did, and so I will. [Read More!]

HUNGARIAN GRAND PRIX - RACE PREVIEW

20.07.2015

BUDAPEST
24 – 26 JULY
ROUND 10 of 19

When making a mid-summer trip to the Hungaroring you can expect to endure temperatures in the mid-30s. For a driver in the cockpit of a Formula One car, this can be in excess of 60 degrees. Combining these conditions with the demanding barrage of corner after corner with very few straights for rest and you have the kind of situation Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa will be in during the Hungarian Grand Prix. Although moderately slow in Formula One terms with an average speed over one lap of 120mph, the slippery track conditions result in the circuit being a challenge the drivers relish. The end of the Grand Prix also marks the long awaited and greatly deserved summer break for drivers and team personnel alike. [Read More!]

Round 10/19, 24-26 June 2015

Fernando Alonso
“The car ran reliably at Silverstone, which was encouraging, and we go to Hungary hoping to add more performance. We will continue to chip away at our package until we achieve our goals. As for the Hungaroring, it holds good memories for me; it’s also a good challenge.”

Jenson Button
“I really enjoy racing at the Hungaroring. It’s a tight and twisty racetrack – a bit like a kart circuit – and the heat can make it tough physically, which is a challenge that I enjoy. I won my first race here; I’ll forever associate the place with getting me on the winners’ map.” [Read More!]

Red Bull Race Preview: Hungary 2015

Daniel Ricciardo
OK Daniel, what’s so good about the Hungarian Grand Prix?
How long have you got? The Hungarian Grand Prix has a lot going for it. Personally, I love these races in the European summer when you have the high temperatures and – usually – the great weather, plus it’s the final race before the summer break and that tends to put everyone in a good mood. There’s usually a really good party on Sunday night and, because of the break everyone tends to stay and have fun. Budapest is a cool city, really good restaurants and bars, really nice, really loyal fans and basically a great place to have a grand prix. That’s the short version. [Read More!]

A very unfortunate British Grand Prix for the Sauber F1 Team. Marcus Ericsson put in a flawless performance until the weather came into play. The Swede lost a lot of time due to numerous pit stops and, therefore, finished 11th. The Sauber C34-Ferrari of Felipe Nasr had issues on the way to the starting grid. 2015 British Grand Prix - Qualifying

Silverstone, July 4, 2015 – Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has taken his eighth pole position of the season, going fastest in British Grand Prix qualifying at Silverstone.

Hamilton used the medium tyre to set his fastest lap of 1m32.248s in Q3, comfortably eclipsing last year’s pole time (set in mixed conditions) and laying the foundations for one of the quickest-ever British grands prix on the current circuit tomorrow. Hamilton and his Mercedes team mate Nico Rosberg – who qualified second on the grid – got through Q1 using the hard tyres only, which have also been nominated for Silverstone. By using just one set of new medium tyres in Q2, the Mercedes drivers saved a new set of mediums for the race. [Read More!]

British Grand Prix - Silverstone, 4 July 2015

Kimi Raikkonen: “It was not an easy qualifying, with the strong wind the handling was not ideal and it was very tricky for everybody, because the conditions kept changing from run to run and from corner to corner. We know that when is windy it’s not very easy for us, we improved our car on that side but here it was still difficult to get the lap right, putting all the sectors together. Obviously we can’t be happy for fifth and sixth position, it’s a bit disappointing, but we tried our best and hopefully tomorrow we’ll do better. I don’t think we’re slipping back, it’s just the different conditions we had today. In the race we’ll see what is going to happen, we’ll push to gain some positions”. [Read More!]

British Grand Prix – Qualifying

Saturday, 04.07.2015
Weather: sunny and dry, 21-25°C air, 27-41°C track

The result of qualifying for the British Grand Prix is far from satisfying with the results being 15th (Ericsson) and 16th (Nasr) for the Sauber F1 Team. Marcus Ericsson was able to make it into Q2, while Felipe Nasr struggled with the tyres and missed the second qualifying session by just a few thousandths of a second. As expected, the high-speed track in Silverstone doesn’t suit the Sauber C34-Ferrari the way other tracks do. On the other side, the Sauber F1 Team was able to make progress in terms of the set-up of the car. [Read More!]

British Grand Prix - Silverstone, 3 July 2015

Kimi Raikkonen: “Today we tried to do the maximum in the practice and it looks good, but it’s only Friday. It was not an easy day, anyway we learned something. We still have to improve and try to make it a bit more straightforward. We have no idea what the others were doing in the long run, we were focused on our session. The medium compound seems to be pretty ok, while the hard one is more difficult. For some reason I struggled a bit with that, but I don’t know if it was down to that set in particular or if the compound itself is more tricky here.” [Read More!]

2015 British Grand Prix - Practice

Silverstone, Jul 03, 2015
Eventful opening day for MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS as temperatures and competition hot up at Silverstone
Nico topped both practice sessions with Lewis finishing the morning in second and the afternoon in fourth on the time sheets

We had a lot to do in terms of development and we also has some new parts to test which we will evaluate tonight to ensure they have worked as expected.
