14.11.2015 - The terror attacks in Paris have overshadowed the Brazilian Grand Prix.
Weather: sunny and dry, 26-31°C air, 41-51°C track
In qualifying Felipe Nasr finished 11th, with Marcus Ericsson in P14. Due to impeding Felipe Massa in qualifying, Nasr has been handed a three-place grid penalty.
The Sauber F1 Team is truly shocked by the terror attacks in Paris and the thoughts of everyone in the team are with the families and friends of the victims.
Marcus Ericsson (car number 9):
Sauber C34-Ferrari (Chassis 02/Ferrari)
Qualifying: 14th in Q2 (1:13.233 min / soft tyres)
3rd practice: 16th (1:14.185 min / soft tyres / 23 laps)
It was a decent qualifying with a close battle in the midfield. But overall I feel a bit disappointed, because I was not fully satisfied with the balance of the car. Besides that, my laps were not ideal. Anyway, we have a decent starting position for tomorrow, not too far from points.
Felipe Nasr (car number 12):
Sauber C34-Ferrari (Chassis 03/Ferrari)
Qualifying: 11th in Q2 (1:12.989 min / soft tyres)
3rd practice: 17th (1:14.288 min / soft tyres / 22 laps)
The car felt quite good today. We made the right changes to the car for the warm weather conditions that were expected for qualifying. I was on a good lap on my last try, which nearly put me in Q3. I am satisfied for myself and also for the team. The penalty is a shame, but I will do my best to finish the race in the points.
